Welcome to the 1st Generation Student Brain Research Workshop Homepage!

Are you a first-generation college student? Are you interested in getting involved in human brain research, but are unsure how? Apply for a four-day, hands-on workshop on the University of Iowa campus to learn human brain research techniques, including EEG, TMS, and fMRI! The workshop is free to participants, provides free lunch and snacks each day, and is funded by the National Science Foundation.


Selected students will participate in four days of hands-on instruction covering the collection, processing, and analysis of human neuroscience techniques on the following dates and times: August 20th-23rd, 2024 – 8am-4pm
